Whoops.

If he wants to post his, we can hold off on this until next week. I don't really care. I just figured I'd post something since nothing had been posted yet.

Not big on this specific genre, but I thought it was more interesting than most of what I've heard. Not too shabby.

Thanks DICK

Edit your shit btw. The band is named Ulcerate. The album is called Vermis.

Good album tho. Had already been aware this album was out and listened to a few tracks. 7 / 10

I've never been a fan of the Cookie Monster type of vocals. Only band I've heard do them well is Opeth (Meshuggah for the most part too). And even with them it sounds silly live. This guy was no different, I didn't like his singing.

Having gotten that outta the way, there was some interesting music on this. I wish the drums hadnt overwhelmed the rest of the instruments so much, at times all I could hear were fast drums and Cookie Monster vocals.

I liked most of what I was able to hear from the guitar(s?) and bass.

5.5/10

Should be a general rule you can't add an album of the week if you haven't reviewed at least the last album of the week.

Seems fair.

6.5/10 on first listen ... not horrible, but not fantastic ... doesn't strike me as overly original on first listen which tends to be the case for me with a lot of heavier metal styles mostly due to mediocre cookie monster vocals. I find I have to tune them out to actually listen to the music itself a bit more. They'd likely be better served with a bit of vocal melody in places or removing the vocal altogether. Musically it's pretty solid, though and I'll likely give it another listen.

I like that ^ review, a less harsh version of mine. You forgot the unnecessarily overwhelming drums though.

This album, to me, just seemed like so much wasted potential. "Could've, should've, would've"

I wonder when the OP will review my album, or all of those in this thread didn't.
