I didn't even get to put in my official list because I was on vacation. But I always seem to listen to about 30 or so albums at the end of the year anyways. After still processing some superb shit that came out last minute from last year and just sleeping on some other stuff, my list has changed quite a bit. Overall, I thought this was a great year for music. A bunch of honorable mentions (too many to name) that have been posted by others on here.

10. Kaytranada. 99.9%
9. Tribe . We Got It from Here... Thank You 4 Your Service
8. De La Soul. and the Anonymous Nobody...
7. K-Dot . Untitled Unmastered
6. Esperanza Spalding. Emily's D+Evolution
5. Nine Inch Nails . Not the Actual Events
4. Run the Jewels . RTJ3
3. Radiohead . A Moon Shaped Pool
2. Danny Brown . Atrocity Exhibition
1. David Bowie . Black Star

How was that Claypool Lennon Dellerium show? That album and Hope Six Demolition Project are both great.

It was a really cool. I even liked Duo de Twang and Primus.

CLD opened with Floyd, closed with Beatles and in between played The Who and King Crimson.
Les was clear, up front in the sound category, both bass and vocals. Sean not as much. I got to hear Boomerang Baby and Mr. Wright.
Beginning of the show the did an homage to Carrie Fisher playing a recorded tape of the last song on album, 'There's no underwear in space'. It was perfect.

Crowd was really there to see Primus. It was the 25th anniversary of NYE Primus shows in the Bay Area.
At least that's what they said. Everybody gets the posters just like Tool shows. Signed and unsigned.
I like Adam's art more.

Awesome seeing all the love for Claypool and Lennon. Midnight Sun from Lennon's other project, The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger, is a hell of an album.

That Pallbearer release was only three songs, two of which were just covers. And that got 4 votes?

Most people just listen to a limited set of artists. Listing that Pallbearer album probably suggests they only listened to about 10 new releases in 2016.

I probably just should have put a line through votes with Korn in it, but really wanted petemasterpetes input so left them there.

Yep, EPs are fine, it's greatest hits, live albums and other compilations that don't.

If NIN had released a few weeks earlier I have no doubt it would have made top 10.

I guess it was my album of the year then, but I did a terrible job of listening to new stuff last year.

I see some familiar stuff on your list. I will check out what I haven't heard when I get some time. I was jamming Syro today at my house. Awesome album. I think you had that on your list a couple years ago.

As much as I love RTJ3, I haven't listened to it in weeks because I cannot stop listening to Danny Brown's Atrocity Exhibition. Insane instrumentals.

He's definitely very polarizing in the hip hop world right now. His voice is not for everyone. I didn't even like him when I first heard his music. I'm embracing the strange this time though. You have to respect how he's able to go over the top of those beats. I'm glad he's on Warp Records now so he can keep pushing the genre into new territory.
