Re: Tool Spring 2017 Tour (includes spoilers!)
Does anyone want to go to the San Jose show with me for 20 bucks. I'm looking at tickets on stub hub and it appears it will be compareable to buy a pair instead of a single ticket.

For anyone who is interested, I wrote a review of Tool's show at First Ontario Centre in Hamilton on May 31st. I hope you enjoy! https://hippiehistorian.com/2017/06/01/3121/
Re: Tool Spring 2017 Tour (includes spoilers!)
I thought signed posters used to be $125, but maybe they were more. Either way, at Governor's Ball, the signed posters were $175. I picked one up to add to the collection. The only unfortunate part was that they didn't show up until late - some people had waited for over 6 hours for them. I got lucky after checking the booth every 15-20 minutes over 4 hours and got one of the first ones after they put up the pricing sign for the signed ones. Might be different for other shows, but I did VIP last year in Denver and the posters came out late then too. Hoping that they are ready during the VIP event on Friday in St Paul.

It would probably be the typical "Maynard picks the songs" answer.

so glad i went to monster mash 2015, that was the most surprising setlist they've played since 2012.
return of no quarter + grudge after 10+ years, parabol and parabola after 3 years each. also was this the debut of descending jam?

Agreed, Monster Mash was amazing. Best show since Rivers Edge.

And to answer your question, technically no. They played it at the VIP the night before.

Re: Tool Spring 2017 Tour (includes spoilers!)
According to the live Reddit thread they played The Pot tonight.
Hey! Denty!
Re: Tool Spring 2017 Tour (includes spoilers!)
Yeah, seems they got The Pot instead of Vicarious

True that.hellboy wrote:Yeah, seems they got The Pot instead of Vicarious

Did they give you much warning on that, or did they just spring it on you to keep you guys on your toes?junior wrote:True that.hellboy wrote:Yeah, seems they got The Pot instead of Vicarious
Edit: Seeing that there appears to be some new video footage (at least from the crappy video I saw it looked new) to go with the song, I expect the answer is "yes"

That is so awesome! I'm really hoping they play that instead of Vicarious for the San Bernardino show.Ravenpig wrote:According to the live Reddit thread they played The Pot tonight.

Very curious to know more about the "video" they played during The Pot as well.
So Long, and Thanks for All the Tool.
Re: Tool Spring 2017 Tour (includes spoilers!)
I think we just saw a new Tool video. Damn!
Re: Tool Spring 2017 Tour (includes spoilers!)
Interested to see the whole thing. Not sure I'd count it as a video per se. My guess is it's some new work from Meats Meier.
Re: Tool Spring 2017 Tour (includes spoilers!)
Wouldn't it be more likely that they used their own video? Time will tell..hellboy wrote:Interested to see the whole thing. Not sure I'd count it as a video per se. My guess is it's some new work from Meats Meier.

Re: Tool Spring 2017 Tour (includes spoilers!)
Not quite sure what you mean by that - they use plenty of footage from artists other than Adam (Meats included)Ettan wrote:Wouldn't it be more likely that they used their own video? What I'm saying is that I'm not convinced this is a music video for The Pot, more just some new artwork created by Meats for the live show.

Here's some better footage of it - albeit sideways
Certainly looks more like a music video than I initially thought:

Re: Tool Spring 2017 Tour (includes spoilers!)
The Pot was a nice surprise. I think it had some extended parts as well. Anything is better than Vicarious, really. It looked like a music video to me. It had some CGI creature crawling through a tunnel while avoiding some gigantic flying, long-armed creature or thing? The ending reminded me of the Parabola video with some object traveling through the guy's body up to the head. Great show though, MJK was very hard to hear but that's nothing new. Being at an outdoor amphitheater didn't help either. He said it was good to be back home. Glad I made the trip. Chicago tonight!

Going to the show tonight. Anyone kept tabs on white time Tool takes the stage at? TIA.

We had some lead time. Wasn't a complete surprise.hellboy wrote:Did they give you much warning on that, or did they just spring it on you to keep you guys on your toes?junior wrote:True that.hellboy wrote:Yeah, seems they got The Pot instead of Vicarious

No severed arm though. Hmm...hellboy wrote:Here's some better footage of it - albeit sideways

Anyone out there going to an upcoming VIP: if you're looking for a question to ask...ask about this severed arm and if it had anything to do with a video for The Pot.
So Long, and Thanks for All the Tool.
