Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

You guys are discussing Tool weren't able to play a song like "7empest" live?

Either you have no trust in the abilities of four professional musicians or you have a very strange perception of that single song.

Re: Fear Inoculum

Ok, with your examples given, I know what you are talking about. I guess we just take it different. Listening to these 10min+ drumming-madness songs don't make me worry about some uneven hits. :-) Btw. I totally loved the Volto record, which had even more "vivid" sounding drums than FI does.

... the drumming is noticeably sloppy in parts. i made a separate post about this. i think some drummers acknowledged as much, but it probably doesn't feel that way to the majority of listeners, so maybe that one's "a little too inside." :) ... I can see that the drums sound like drums be...

Re: The Grudge (WARNING: It Hapenned!!)

@ Spoonman - That’s interesting. I cannot relate (amazing track), but nobody should be beating up on you for not enjoying a song. Have you given it equal time, or do you just skip it? When I heard the first live records of Descending and Invincible, I immediatly felt that the first one just bored m...

Re: The Grudge (WARNING: It Hapenned!!)

"Descending" - by far the weakest song of Fear Innoculum. Is this like a "velvet rope" type of thing? Like, the better the song that isn't good enough for you, the cooler you must be? Or do you actually occupy some weird middle zone of musical taste, where you like what Tool doe...

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)

90-170$ ticket sale price? Wow, is this standard in the US? I think Berlin was about 90 or 95€ this year. And in 2006 and 2007 I paid about 40€ to see the band. At this time there was an interview with Maynard at some festival and they asked him, why Tool tickets were so expensive. Yes, back then 40...

So, -Tool release their new album as a "limited edition" for a pretty high price (especially outside the US). -No single CD or something. -The "Limited Edition" is sold out quickly. -Suprise: Tool has a containership full of more "limited editions" -Suprise: Tool announ...

Looks like Danny's playing some old Sonor Phonic bassdrums, might also be Signatures, but I'm not sure if they ever made black ones.
Anyway, both awesome drums! :-)

That out of tune snare in Invincible, ARRRRRGGHHHH. The overtones are so nasty and really prevalent in the mix. That is probably my biggest gripe of few. The snaredrum sounds absolutly fantastic ! It's a pleasure to my ears to hear ringing, hear the snare wires vibrate etc. instead of getting this ...
