Here's a little thingy I recorded earlier. It's a pretty rough recording and it doesn't really have an ending. It's a work in progress. But I don't know, I felt like sharing it.

Sadly, my musical skill is merely "yea I think that sounds cool".

Who said it has to be musical? Can't you write and do a spoken word piece over UKE's music?Ravenpig wrote:Sadly, my musical skill is merely "yea I think that sounds cool".
Not sure what's going on with the following piece. I originally had pretty big plans for it in a project at the moment, but not sure how or where it will fit. Or even if it would fit at all.
I've been starting writing and editing every morning on the train. I get the early train so I can get to work early and do more writing and editing there. It's working surprisingly well. I've always liked writing in the morning - just much earlier, before I go to sleep.

It's a semi-prose poetry piece. It's my usual style, but not sure how effective it is. Posting for suggestions and comments, but I won't read too much into it if no one even reads it.
Ducks
“Knock knock!”
“Nope.”
“Oh, come on.”
“No.”
An hour earlier, I had once again fallen afoul of a most ridiculous pun.
“Knock knock!”
“Do you not have something productive to do?”
In reply, she made a gown from the unhooked curtain. She silhouetted herself in front of the yawning window; I took photos with my imaginary polaroid camera. I developed them, and tucked them into my secret album. They were horrifically beautiful.
I attempted to gather the various pieces of paper she had strewn all over the rug. The bold red-and-black design was being suffocated by documents, pictures and other samples of things she had found interesting - from a seemingly neverending number of sources.
The poor rug, tattered as it was, had never stood a chance. Something had to be done.
She danced slowly over toward me, waving the curtain in the air. Soon, there would be nowhere for me to move. She laughed as I sneezed from the dust she was triumphantly freeing into our small apartment. Her occasional predictability was a small comfort, rare as it was.
"KNOCK KNOCK!"
She had reached me, and I was trapped. Her, the curtain and I were a new beast: A dusty, sneezing, choking, weezing, laughing monster of future delight.
Mournfully, the rug looked on.
"Have you heard about the duck-do next Sunday?" She stared with mock-seriousness into my watering eyes.
"One: That's not a knock-knock joke. Two: You've told it to me a dozen times before. In fact, not an hour ago did you tell it again. And three: It's a really dumb joke."
She tried to pout, but I smothered her with the curtain before she could get very far.
"Yeah, but do you laugh every time I tell it?"
I frowned. "Yes."
"Then KNOCK KNOCK!!!"
O love will you read the letters I will send to you.

"For The Last Time"
there is nothing, nothing
keeping me from
a world that lets me swim
hard against currents
hard against winds
taking my love for you
nothing, nothing
currently swimming
to let my world be hard
against love, stopping me
from a current
of breeze

Re: Things You've Made v2
Santa showed up early. CJ29, my partner in life, bought this blanket from Sick as Frick Creations on fb mere hours after it was posted. I shared this on my TOOL page but had no idea it was headed to my house! The eyes and some effects are hand painted by the artist. She is taking orders if you want one of your own. Purchasing this quilt supports a single mother.

Looks good and much better than those actual Tool blankets!

It is so much better! Pics do not do it justice.
Re: Things You've Made v2
Work in progress. Taking a year off work so hopefully will have time to get more creative! Have no idea what I am in for to be honest. Might just become a sleep depraved lunatic
