Mike Patton - Tomahawk, Fantomas, FNM, Mr Bungle, etc
Re: Mike Patton - Tomahawk, Fantomas, FNM, Mr Bungle, etc
It's exactly what I'd expect from Bungle.

Re: Mike Patton - Tomahawk, Fantomas, FNM, Mr Bungle, etc
They started out as a weird thrash metal band and they were honouring their thrasy debut ep so not surprising they pulled that out. They never really set out to meet expectations so cam see why they'd do that.
Can get ya surprise/ disappointment though. I'd prefer a more weirder bungle spund too but is still great to hear they're doing something again. I imagine reaching the heights they did with their 3 albums may be a pretty bloody hard thing to achieve especially without heifetz etc

Fair enough, I've never listened to that particular demo, but I have others, and assumed it would be similar. I guess not.
Edit: I'm cool with it though.

Yeh I never have either mate. I just listened to an episode on podcast croissant and they broke it all down in the lead up to these shows.
I'm hearing ya , I don't need bungle to be straight thrash but the gig was presented as a bit of a homage to their thrash roots so wasn't surprised is all.

So tickets are roughly $150 with fees, not bad.

About standard for those venues I think, especially as they don't really have an elaborate stage. Count me in!

I never really anticipated any problems for the Adelaide show, and sounds like everyone I know planning on going is sorted.
Re: Mike Patton - Tomahawk, Fantomas, FNM, Mr Bungle, etc
I'm sorted, it was a breeze.
I have had someone contact me though who has 4 extra gold seated tickets for Melbourne section 54 CC. Reliable source I purchased some TooL tickets from him.
PM me if keen.

That's a good question, as I'll need to ban his account if he's not

I feel like we've heard this before and it didn't really seem to go anywhere, but I'm keen regardless:

Their last two albums didn't do much for me so not overly fussed. I'll listen if it happens but with moderate expectations.

Hated Oddfellows.

There were maybe a couple of songs that perked some interest , but not enough to make me keep going back to it

Oddfellows was certainly not up to the standard of the first three, but had it's moments. Still, given the talent in the band I hold out some optimism.
Re: Mike Patton - Tomahawk, Fantomas, FNM, Mr Bungle, etc
Wasn't as bad as I remembered but yeah, not up to standard of the first three.

I'll have to give anonymous another spin, can't recall enjoying that much either at the time.

I think Anonymous was a good record, mostly because it didn't just tread the well worn Tomahawk path. It almost felt like a Fantomas release at times.Busty McCracken wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2020 8:51 pm Viva la geek tour!

That said, it has plenty of good tracks, but also some that fall flat.

Re: Mike Patton - Tomahawk, Fantomas, FNM, Mr Bungle, etc
That's probably why I didn't love it. I've enjoyed fantomas live every time I've seen em , but never really been a band I sit and listen to at home. Or stand for that manner. Perhaps a squat and listen I could manage but just never really felt the urge to try tbh

Really?
Not even The Directors Cut?
That album slays and I love the production.
