- You like noisy music?
- Yes. The louder the better. Stops me from thinking.
- You don't like to think? What do you like?
- Never thought about it.

So Long, and Thanks for All the Tool.

Hey Norm! Despite Ty’s prediction, looks good to me. We shall see.
Floyd tune was a nice touch. Eclipsed by the Dune.

Yeah, looks good...although I've read that it's only the first half of the book?
Here's hoping they can get the second half completed.

Re: Movie/TV News
I like Pink Floyd, some albums a lot, but that did not fit in this trailer...
Re: Movie/TV News
Yeah, it did feel a bit off, but...I've read that when Alejandro Jodorowsky's was trying to get his version of Dune made, he wanted Pink Floyd to score the movie. I think this may be Villeneuve acknowledging that.
I believe that Hans Zimmer is handling this soundtrack, so it'll probably be something a bit different.

Re: Movie/TV News
See as I watched it my thought was damn I love this song and it works really well here...
"She's a very charming and delightful creature, and has only one fault that I know of. It happens, unfortunately, that that single blemish is a want of taste. She don't like me."

Awww Tysons got the giggles. Cute.
Nice to see you Norm!

I'm sure the soundtrack will be fine, but I agree the song didn't do much for me.

I've never been able to get into the book, but I feel like I should re-read it based on this because it looks cool as fuck!

I had started reading it years ago and gave up about a third of the way in. I remember it being a bit of a slog.Whowatchesthewampas wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2020 6:40 am I've never been able to get into the book, but I feel like I should re-read it based on this because it looks cool as fuck!
I actually picked it up again last year and really enjoyed it this time around.

Re: Movie/TV News
Just watched the Lynch/Kyle MacLachlan Dune flick again for the first time in decades. Enjoyed it, but damn is it campy. I’m looking forward to seeing the remake, not least for the SE.
I was surprised to see Captain Picard as Gurney. Did not remember that at all.
As far as the books, I may revisit the first book too. Read it a couple of times over the years and loved it. Very well written and extremely engaging story and character development. The sequels and related volumes were a bit of a slog.

Calfium was spluttering his cornflakes over your 'cool as fuck' comment as clearly he doesn't think so...this coming from a guy who likes Butthole Surfers.
