Re: Soundwave Festival
That's cheap, and fucking rude. The dude was/is a cunt, but no need to pull that shit.
Fuck 'em. I've still got old school PILOTS. Fuck, Just last year, me and my friends were doing covers of their shit for sets in a dodgy Korean bar.

Re: Soundwave Festival
Has any "STP" with Chester the Molester on vox been leaked? I can't imagine it will be anything but shite. I do dig old STP, but this is bound to be a train wreck, no?

Re: Soundwave Festival
I know one of their songs has been played on the radio, it's awful. Such a bad combination.

I think this is one of those rare things where it's OK to judge before experience.Kittaan wrote:Has any "STP" with Chester the Molester on vox been leaked? I can't imagine it will be anything but shite. I do dig old STP, but this is bound to be a train wreck, no?

Look, I gave the little cunt a chance.
But his voice is as weak as piss. Neil Young would sound better.
Say what you want about Scott, but the bastard owned the shit out of the vocals and lyrics. If you were born before 1991, you'd know what I'm saying.

I haven't been to a festival in 12 years. I think I've been to three in my entire gig attending life of 22 years. The Boss wrote:Do people our age still go to major festivals like this? I'm not trying to be snarky, I genuinely have no idea.
I'm not sure if I have it in me to be surrounded by a bunch of teenagers watching bands that I'm interested in past their prime.
Mostly because they're full of.........ha ha ha ha (sorry I couldn't hold it in) "bands" that dorks listen to on their ipods at the gym.
Other than that, they're a fucking ripoff and a useless waste of time.
Take "SOUNDWAVE" for instance......

I certainly won't be wasting my time with STP. Not sure I'd even bother if Scott were singing either.

Saw STP 3-4 years ago, was well worth the time assuming you don't hate them. Wouldn't go see them now if the tickets were free.
Also saw Alice In Chains a few years back. Don't dismiss it since Layne croaked, they're still pretty damn good with the old stuff- and it's a festival so they'll play all the well known songs.

Alice In Chains were great when I saw them a few years ago. My only concern is that they will play too much shit of their last album.

Re: Soundwave Festival
It's a festival- don't be worried one bit. Just about every band does "the greatest hits" for these larger ones, particularly when they don't have a headlong slot (aka shorter stage time). Look at APC's set list for their festivals compared the emotive heavy songs for their own shows.hellboy wrote:Alice In Chains were great when I saw them a few years ago. If I lived in Australia I think I'd dig this festival- minus the headliners. It's opposite here in the states for the most part- but that's just my taste in music and opinion I suppose.

Re: Soundwave Festival
I never got into either AIC or STP, but love Sunny Day Real Estate, which has nothing to do with anything.
Ok I enjoy the best of AIC, but it's nothing ground breaking, same way I feel about Soundgarden, solid rock bands.

I just saw them last night (along with the trainwreck that is Jane's Addiction) at Uproar Festival and they only played 1-2 off "The Devil..." Lots of old stuff. They still sound great.hellboy wrote:Alice In Chains were great when I saw them a few years ago. My only concern is that they will play too much shit of their last album.
