Re: New Music Thread
Downloaded the new album from O'Brother called Disillusion last night and had a listen this morning. Really digging it - well worth checking out if you're a fan alternative rock with some progressive elements.
I believe they're from Atlanta as well, so I expect Kitty is all over this...

Heard one of their new songs on JJJ yesterday, sounded like The National
Re: New Music Thread
I haven't heard anything so far that sounds even remotely like The National. So far, this album is very much a case of:Not Tyson wrote:Heard one of their new songs on JJJ yesterday, sounded like The National

Re: New Music Thread
Well I first heard about Revocation when you posted about them in this thread, so I'm not surprised that I missed this originally.

Nice sampler album from Magic Bullet records. A few hits and misses, but overall some great tunes mainly in the punk, hardcore and post-rock genres. If you're bored or just want to hear some new music, then check it out:

Thanks for the heads-up, Abroham Lincoln. This is very relevant to my interests. Not Tyson wrote:http://www.spin.com/articles/vista-chin ... um-stream/
Vista Chino is streaming now.
O love will you read the letters I will send to you.
Re: New Music Thread
The album leaked a couple of weeks ago. It's ok in parts, but I expect Crow will criticise it for being overly derivative.

Nah, it's OK for what it is. Had to study, so couldn't listen to it too closely.hellboy wrote:The album leaked a couple of weeks ago. It's ok in parts, but I expect Crow will criticise it for being overly derivative.
Doesn't feel like the almighty KYUSS at all, really. Which I'm pretty happy about.

Re: New Music Thread
Just listened to the 3 sample tracks off of the new Deltron 3030 single off of iTunes. Can't sample the full album yet but you buy the single called "City Rising from the Ashes", which has 3 tracks. I really like what I hear. Have seen him with hieroglyphics and solo a couple of times and also had a great time. Just look who is on this album.
1. Stardate (ft. Joseph Gordon-Levitt)
2. The Return
3. Pay the Price
4. Nobody Can (ft. Aaron Bruno of AWOL Nation)
5. Lawnchair Quarterback Pt. 1 (ft. David Cross and Amber Tamblyn)
6. Melding of the Minds (ft. Zach De La Rocha)
7. The Agony (ft. Mary Elizabeth Winstead)
8. Back in the Day (ft. The Lonely Island)
9. Talent Supersedes (ft. Black Rob)
10. Look Across the Sky (ft. Mary Elizabeth Winstead)
11. The Future of Food (ft. David Chang)
12. My Only Love (ft. Emily Wells)
13. What Is This Loneliness (ft. Damon Albarn and Casual)
14. Lawnchair Quarterback Pt. 2 (ft. David Cross and Amber Tamblyn)
15. City Rising From the Ashes (background vocals by Mike Patton)
16. Do You Remember (ft. Jamie Cullum)
So fucking sick! Sept. 30th!
