***EDIT***: To appease the forum gods before this gets messy and clusterfuck-ish, I'm changing this into 5 separate threads for each instrument.
A few months back, I got extremely bored one day and decided to try and come up with my own personal top 10 list of musicians at each instrument commonly found in a rock band. I kinda figured that this had probably been a topic in the past, but I couldn't find any similar threads. Since Hellboy decided to post his top 10 Tool songs, I figured now would be as good of a time as any to put this out there for discussion. I tried my best to make my list as objective as possible, but in all honesty it probably ended up about 50% objective, 50% subjective (and even that might be an underestimation). Anyways, here it is:
Drummers
1.) Danny Carey - Tool
2.) Neil Peart - Rush
3.) Mike Portnoy - Dream THeater
4.) John Bonham - Led Zeppelin
5.) Brann Dailor - Mastodon
6.) Keith Moon - The Who
7.) Tim Alexander - Primus
8.) Carl Palmer - Emerson, Lake and Palmer
9.) Stewart Copeland - The Police
10.) Phil Collins - Genesis
And there you have it. Feel free to add any categories you think should be included. I'm looking forward to seeing what other people have to say.

Re: Top 10 Drummers/Bassists/Guitarist/Vocalists/Keyboardist
This will be one BIG clusterfuck. I suggest separate threads for each. Go for it, I'll give it a shot.
You've got some good choices there, but my lists would vary significantly.

Wow- I don't think I could do this list. Soooo...
The negative person in me will say that you must be smoking crack while snorting meth and injecting heroin into your veins for including Pete Loeffler into this. Easily the worst live act band, that I actually like their music. I saw them three times in small venues/small festivals and they are a fucking snore fest with ZERO stage personality. Probably worst drummer ever- cant fire a family member though, they should become drunks and hate each other.
Sorry- had to get that out of the way. I do like listening to Chevelle, got some good tunes.
No problems with the rest of your list but that one stuck out like a sore thumb. Carry on.

Wow! Just WOW!
Danny's secret Japanese love child,
Senri Kawaguchi
Check out her other videos if you appreciate outstanding drumming!
Danny needs to have his drum off with her.

Lots of cool drummers out there, Senri looks like she has some skills.
My favorite 10 would be something like this (I don't necessarily rate on raw talent, more how much I enjoy the fruits of their labour, and my enjoyment watching them play live):
Danny Carey
John Stanier
Will Calhoun
Matt Cameron
Tim Alexander
Mike Bordin
Igor Cavalera
Dave Grohl
Tomas Haake
John Bonham

Re: Top 10 Drummers of All Time
My list is basically drummers who stand out to me and have offered something a little different, caught my attention for one reason or another or just downright slayed live. Footnote. I've seen all these perform live so is probably why they stand out.
Yes I know Kram isn't an amazing drummer but he's great fun to watch live and commands attention just as Lars is mediocre and cant keep a beat, but damn, take him out of the band and they would be nothing. Stuff like this is what has made up my list.
Danny Carey - Tool
John Garcia - Kyuss
Lucius Borich - Cog
Igor Caveralla - Sepultura
Matt cameron - Soundgarden
Rob Hirst - Midnight oil
Mike Bordin - FNM
Dave Grohl - Nirvana
Kram - Spiderbait
Lars Ulrich - Metallica
