Mike Dillard hasn’t been in the band since the early ’80s. What led to him joining you for Tres Cabrones?
A few years back we put out some original demos on [former Dead Kennedys frontman] Jello Biafra’s label, Alternative Tentacles. He had a 50th birthday party in San Francisco and he asked if the Melvins would play. Dale mentioned that we should have the original lineup—or close to it—play the show, since the demos they released were from that iteration of the group.
That was a killer show and I was right up front at the Great American. Adam joined them on guitar for some tunes. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Wow, I just got Tres Cabrones. I wasn't sure what to think with Dale playing bass. His drumming is one of the main reasons I love listening to Melvins. Yet once again the album kicked ass. I didn't like The Bride Screamed Murder as much, and Freak Puke was interesting but obviously a whole different thing so I had pretty low expectations, yet they still have yet to release an album I don't at least think is decent...great band. Can't wait to see them again.

can't be fucked looking it up, but there were some questions about the Melvins's's's's line-up on the Aussie tour:

We’re going to Australia in December, and we’ll be there for about three weeks doing a tour. Big Business are doing that one, they’re back playing with us right now.

1 week to go! Buddy of mine saw them in Brisbane the other night and said they were fantastic (and Helmet were in good form too).

Yeah, I absolutely love it. I even used a sample of "BEER BEER BEER BEER" as my message notification on my phone.

I'll be listening to it on the way down to the show tomorrow.

Well, just got back. On phone, so I'll keep it brief.

HELMET are amazing. I knew-knew maybe a half of their stuff played, and knew-of the other half. Hard, driving, unrelenting, poppy. Yeah. Poppy. A fun band. 10/10

MELVINS. It's a set list for oooooold fans. If you've been with them from the beginning, you'll be rewarded. No one knew "You're Blackened" (is that even the name?), nor the first song from "BRIDE...". I picked my crowd and absolutely ruined my neck with some serious fans.

That said, the set list tested me. I knew of all except two, and regularly listen to maybe four songs. It was incredibly rewarding, active, fun, vibrant, and simply rockin'.

SPOILER

"LYSOL".

END SPOILER.

10/10. Waited a long time for this night. Perfect night.

AND can't wait to do it again on Sunday. Get pumped, Tyson.

With a few exceptions I never end up caring what the setlist consists of because the entire thing feels like one long, well planned ride.

I'll be the one closer to the back than the front sipping beer and moderately bobbing my head along to the music.

I'll leave the slam dancing to the kids.

I've got nothing against moshing, but it's hard to do with a beer (and cock) in your hand.

My hearing usually recovers the next day. My ears are still ringing, and I have serious difficulty hearing. I actually asked my friend the day before the show to get us earplugs, and he laughed at me and called me old. He's not laughing now.

Also, the venue is tiny (max 450 capacity), and I was directly in front of a speaker and the stage.

So, not sure if it was brutally loud, or I was just in a bad spot in a small venue.

What a bunch of pussies. I thought this was Fourtheye not Pussyeye. Hellboy and The Boss more like Pussyboy and The Pussy. Jesus, what a joke.
