Maynard didn't use the mic stand all the time, first time since 2007 (I believe).
Maynard sounds good from what i've heard so far..
Danny fixed his ugly snare sound from last year
Here's a video of Lateralus, notice that Maynard does NOT use the mic stand

Get these fucking Youtube vids out of The Grudge. You want some bullshit Toolgasm go start a new thread. This thread is for those of us that recognize that Tool have become a pathetic piece of shit band.
This is a proper Grudge post:
This is a proper Grudge post:
I wonder what bullshit questions where asked in the Q & A section. I imagine no one had the balls to actually call Adam out for being a lazy fuck who is incapable of completing a new album.Mog the Magnificent wrote: You have every right to bitch don't apologize to anyone, least of all Tyson. Fuck that motherfucking cunt.
Maybe now more people will start to realize what a piece of shit band Tool have become. Maynard said he didn't want Tool to become a greatest hits version of itself. Well that is EXACTLY what has happened. It is really sad to see. At one point Tool was a great band. Now they are a shell of their former selves. Incapable of completing a new album. Doing yearly mini-tours to make easy money and then heading back on vacation.
You know even if I didn't respect their lack of professionalism I could at least hold on to a shred of respect if the band didn't lie all the fucking time. 3 years now they have talked about working on this new album. Danny talking about pounding away at it. The band talking about not touring until it was complete. 2013 being a BIG YEAR for Tool. Wait, no, uh....2014 being a big year for Tool. Well it is March. Apparently they got a song done and went off on vacation again for a month. 8 years between albums. Realistically, if the fucking thing even comes out if will be 9 years between albums and that is being optimistic. Pathetic.
You support this fucking band. Tool fans are a bunch of enablers and apologists. Disgusting.

I am really feeling bad for Kittaan and Z. Kittaan being an old timer like me and this being Z's first show I sure as shit hope they toss in something more than the shit setlist they played last night.

You know what? How's about you not be a dick for three seconds in this thread.
Or any other thread.
Because while I'm strapped in and lovin' the hate-torture that you're into, this is, literally beyond boring.
I can only speak for myself, but seriously, EVERYONE IN THIS FORUM IS BORED.
I'm HUUUUGE into rants, grudges, hate, negativity - all the good shit. But seriously, you haven't been fresh for YEARS.
Got your Doom back et al; but really, cut it out. Or come fresh.
Or even hate TOOL on a new way. Be creative.
Ugh.

So Long, and Thanks for All the Tool.
Re: The Grudge (contains SPOILERS)
My $.02
I appreciate this thread because it expresses, and rightly so in a lot of ways, all the lame aspects of Tool and their current "situation". No need to go into details, just peruse the (for me) last 68 pages of this thread.
I can skim the posts here to alleviate all of the disappointment I have felt over the years at how the band handle themselves and then focus on the positive aspects that still remain (still significant for me, clearly). All without getting my own hands too dirty (shit, sometimes I even have to vent).
So keep on with the vitriol if it floats your boat, it's not like I don't get it. But I tend to agree with Crow on the beating of dead horses aspect.

Re: The Grudge (contains SPOILERS)
I understand that there has only been one show, but Blair's post makes it sound like the Spokane crowd was in for a treat. What's your definition of evolve in this circumstance? Replace one or two songs for a couple tracks they haven't played since the Lateralus tour? Hooker and Intension are the only two songs that have not been mainstays since 2006, but were both played at the 2012 tour. They probably will swap out one or two songs at some point during the tour, but they have been doing that since the start of 10K tour. I saw these swaps usually happen when they played back to back nights in London or 3 nights in Germany. So as someone else mentioned, SF has the most likely chance of seeing something new and evolved. If they were to break out The Grudge or Eulogy, or dare I say, D/R/T why wouldn't they play it opening night? Those are tough songs that will probably be a little rusty until road tested. I'm curious to see what will actually evolve this tour.hellboy wrote:Hard to evolve when there's only been one show. Let's wait and see what the rest of the tour delivers before getting worked up over that one.Bill Hilly wrote:Evolve is the key word.
I'll be surprised if we do see much "evolution" though.

Dammit enough with the beating of horses. I happen to like horses. Wonderful animals.
@Crow - I get it. You get it. Kind of an addiction. Hard to stop when the ardent Toolios come a knockin. I really am not that bad of a person. Or maybe I am. Hold me.
@Kittaan - I do love you so you fountain of wisdom and bullshit. You and I would get on very well offline I imagine. Maybe one day I will visit and put it in your butt.

Re: The Grudge (contains SPOILERS)
He was probably talking about the stage 'show' evolving...more lights, leds, better visuals displayed coming to a climax as the show goes on....lame to call THAT 'evolving' (what else do you expect from Blair) when a lot of fans have seen them multiple times and a lot of it from tour to tour seems regurgitated. Dont get me wrong...I was disappointed to see Hooker and Intension....again, Kanaduhs words me even more worried....
Re: The Grudge (contains SPOILERS)
That's because Tool is a piece of shit band. That setlist last night, coming from a band supposedly hard at work...bwhahahaaha...sorry....working on....hahahaha...uh....trying to work on a new album is fucking pathetic. You should dump those tickets and save yourself the misery.alicetooljam wrote:He was probably talking about the stage 'show' evolving...more lights, leds, better visuals displayed coming to a climax as the show goes on....lame to call THAT 'evolving' (what else do you expect from Blair) when a lot of fans have seen them multiple times and a lot of it from tour to tour seems regurgitated. And think on this for a second. If their show is "evolving"...doesn't that completely fuck over the fans that attended the shit shows? Say they break out a new tune in San Fran. What about those poor folks in Spokane who got stuck with that shit setlist? Same shit they have been doing for years. Basically the same bunch of songs, with a Lateralus drum off, and now an added intermission so Jimmy can have a wine break.
