That new-ish version of Sanctified was fucking amazing in a huge arena on that PA. But I love really deep, dark house music.

um ... no ... it's near unlistenable for the most part ... even in a live setting the new tracks fell flat apart from the band 'intro' performance piece that Copy of A was as an opening track ... sandwiched in the middle of the show and it would have been just as underwhelming as the rest of this record ... I do agree on the slip though, that was mostly a pile of dogshit, too, but at least it had a single redeeming instrumental track on it.

Uh no you are wrong. Hesitation Marks is excellent. Production is masterclass. Fantastic album. Couldn't give a shit if it translated poorly in a live setting. Not all albums do.

I like Hesitation Marks more than I did when I first heard it, though it is obviously not in The Fragile/TDS territory.

Having said that, I thought the songs actually sounded better in a live setting. Copy of A for example, kicks much more ass live. Has balls that it doesn't on the album.

I used to prefer his older releases...The Fragile is a masterpiece no doubt...but at this point I prefer the direction he has moved into. Year Zero, Ghosts, HTDA, Hesitation...etc.....I like the more experimental aspect of what he is doing now. I think his production skills are off the charts at this point.

I just dig that he is willing to try different things. He isn't making the same album over and over again.

Oh I do too don't get me wrong. Year Zero is THIS close to being at TDS level for me. With Teeth and The Slip get a lot of shit as his "worst" albums but they're both 10 good punches to the face free of any concept album restrictions. Ghosts is always a trip to listen to.

Post Fragile NIN isn't the same as before. And there's nothing wrong with that.

I really enjoyed Year Zero ... just spun it the other day and I think Ghosts is fucking brilliant ... listen to it as much as I listen to any of his catalog ... HM does nothing for me ... I respect his honesty in making what he wants, I just think it's lacking ... production means nothing if there's no substance, and for me, that record has none

LISTEN TO NEW TRENT REZNOR AND ATTICUS ROSS “GONE GIRL” CONTRIBUTION

A website called Find Amazing Amy that hypes up the movie. By visiting that site, you can hear an as-yet-untitled musical contribution by Reznor and Ross.

Could not deal with 40-something Reznor finding "fresh" new ways to whine and dwell in the same space he used to. Love the old songs dearly, but very pleased with the direction he's taken things. It's hard when you're known for angst-ridden stuff to gracefully move into something else.

He needs to capialize on this prolonged period of fervent activity and release a new album.

As "Nine Inch Nails" and not some Wonky Joe side project.
'It is time for us to be doing what we have been doing every day. And that time is now'
