Maybe not for US$175. I got my VHS (LOL) version for AU$85 (is that right? It feels right) back in the day.Not Tyson wrote:Uh, yes.
Quite a sum on a telemarketers "wage".

O love will you read the letters I will send to you.
Re: Tool "Musuem" Merchandise Thread
Yeah $80 something is what I paid, the cutie at the cd shop I used to frequent gave it to me on a friday before the official release.

Me and my Tool Crew 4ever (Wes'side) got "LATERALUS" three days before it was released. Not Tyson wrote:Yeah $80 something is what I paid, the cutie at the cd shop I used to frequent gave it to me on a friday before the official release.
We were walking out of the "Sanity" (shut up) holding the albums, looking at them like junkies who had just discovered never-ending bags of black tar, and this large-ish metal-ish dude comes screaming over, demanding "where did you get that?!"
We meekly pointed to the "Sanity" no more than ten metres behind us, gave him The Horns, and went back to our CD Players (LOL) to bliss out.
Good times.

Me and ____ lined up at JBHIFI for an hour before they opened and ponied up the dough for ten copies of "10,000 DAYS" - just so our friends didn't have to worry about missing getting a copy. Not Tyson wrote:Then we both downloaded 10,000 days for free way before the release date, lol.

Re: Tool "Musuem" Merchandise Thread
Interest in tool signs have dwindled for two reasons:
1 - apart from their diehards, they're essentially irrelevant even when compared to Jared Leto.
2 - they've spent the last 8 years signing everything from tits to clutches to kitchen sinks, meaning supply is now exceeding demand by long shot save for a few of the initial limited items.

Toolarmy facebook page made an updated post including a merch response saying that the items would be put into the regular toolband web shop rather than the tool army one. Also confirmed, as much as it's worth, that they are going to release a new members only site.

Re: Tool "Musuem" Merchandise Thread
Here is the email response from Merch:
I would just keep an eye out on the Tool band store. The reason why its two separate stores is because we have switched over to a different web host in order to upgrade to a better shipping platform and to be able to control the content and design. Unfortunately we were never given the ok to switch over the membership site and the band didn’t want to fork out money to update the site because they are planning to launch a really cool membership site which includes a shopping bazaar. So that's the reason why we are still stuck on a crappy host with TOOLARMY and its kinda funny that we have very limited control over the TOOLARMY site. We can’t even update the membership packages page. When we try and make the membership packs page go live with the updated contents of each membership package a few hours later it goes back to the original membership page which is bad because we don’t have a way to alert our customers that the package contents for each level of membership has changed quite a bit. This is the same reason why the items sold in TOOLband's shop differs from the shopping bazaar on the membership site. Therefore i would suggest keeping an eye out on Toolband's store. If anything its going to be posted on there first and way before it gets put in the shopping bazaar.

Re: Tool "Musuem" Merchandise Thread
I'm interested to see what they come up with, assuming I'm still alive when it launches. Since I only have another 30-40 years max, it doesn't seem likely.
If they don't grandfather in existing TA members (for at least the 1st year), that would be sad. They have raked in a tremendous amount on new memberships since the site's been down, with virtually no overhead and providing next to nothing.

Why wouldn't they give, current, TA members full access? Lol if they try to get everyone to sign up and pay again.
