i'm not sure if smbd really needs this, but anyway:
In celebration of the return of the D, I attempt to bring another hard-to-find release.
So I downloaded this from a site called http://www.lachrymology.org and/or http://46and2.org/ 2003/2004 perhaps?
The date modified on the file shows December 2005 but I suspect that was when I copied it from another hard drive. I believe both sites were run by the same person, there might have been a third mirror but I don't remember the name of it.
I've never really seen much mention or reference to this demo before despite the appearance of the ænema, and other, demos. I shared it on the collectiveunconscious.org forums and I believe other members confirmed it was different to the version found on Salival. My guess is that this is presumably the demo they contributed to the Private Parts soundtrack that ended up unusedhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salival apart from being played live since 1994
There is an old school sounding mp3 glitch at some point in the song, I can go digging into older harddrives and cds and see if an earlier copy does not have this glitch but if I had to guess I would say they all have it.
If anyone can shed any further light as to the origins of this recording, please let us know in the comments
This was out on the internet way before Salival came out, IIRC. At least a year. I thought I remembered getting it from TDN, but I think TDN just had the live version. I think I got it from Napster too. Burned it to a CD and lost it.
Great to hear this again, I really liked the sound of the guitar in the bridge section versus the Salival version. If you'll notice, the sound quality of the Salival version also sounds like a demo though it sounds like there were just some re-recorded vocals and guitars (probably not the entire song, just certain parts).

- You like noisy music?
- Yes. The louder the better. Stops me from thinking.
- You don't like to think? What do you like?
- Never thought about it.
Yeah I want to A/B it as on first listen this really doesn't sound all that different in terms of the raw takes, etc. used. Just sounds like a rough mix.
