I had a dream last night that I was at a RATM show. I really wish these guys would record another album. Zack has been spitting fire on his side projects. He needs to direct that energy into a new album with Rage. My favorite Rage show I attended was with Wu Tang as an opener. I shared a blunt with Method Man during their set. Crazy.

Cool find on that vid. That doesn't even look like Tom Morello. I saw them for the first time in 1993 at Lolla and they were much more polished, but this was a great show.

1997 in West Palm Beach. He ran up to my section during METHOD MAN, the song, and did a little puff, puff, pass with me.

Re: Rage Against the Machine
Getting your political information from an artist is almost as bad getting your art from a politician. Rage Against the machine can't be slighted for what they are doing. You can say whatever, but their art is wonderful. It doesn't have to be held to an unattainable standard. It's not like they are actually corrupt. They just make money selling their art, live the dream. I could be jealous, but to think that they are hypocrites for being a success is silly. If you drive a car or wear clothes you didn't make from locally sourced fibers you are supporting slavery, war, and oppression. Did you eat packaged food today? Did you use a computer ? Pay your taxes? You supported the machine. They are just saying it is corrupted and needs attention, not burn it to the ground and go off the grid. Your not even allowed to do that without being fined. A place of residence has to have running water and electricity to meet "modern" legal living standards. Why not take Sony for what you can and keep making good music related to your passions without having to work 9-5? I'm happy for those guys.
Re: Rage Against the Machine
Agree mate... I grew up listening to Rage (teen angst)... But I also learnt to play bass (finger picked) because of my love for this band... As I have gotten older I still love what they meant to me. I agree they were painting political art, they were not politicians....
Be good to each other.

Sounds like something is happening in Rage Against The Machine world: http://prophetsofrage.com/
Timing doesn't seem right for the Riotfest announcements, which was my first thought.

Chuck d and b real leading the members of ratm. No Zach de la rocha. They will play songs from all three bands (public enemy, cypress, ratm) Possibly unannounced shows until day before in different cities. Maybe....

Re: Rage Against the Machine / Prophets of Rage
I'm not feeling it either. I was lucky to see the original RATM lineup several times in the 90s. They are still one of my favorite bands, and I'm also a big fan of Cypress Hill and PE. But, I will not go to one of these shows. You can't replace a Zack.

Re: Rage Against the Machine / Prophets of Rage
Yeah, it just sounds like a covers band, despite the star quality of the makeup. And the new Prophets of Rage tracks are pretty underwhelming to say the least.
