Re: The Grudge (WARNING: Meh... why bother?)
The curveball is "possibly" an Undertow reissue with a bonus disc of videos for The Pot and Opiate and some live stuff thrown in for good measure.
Remember some time ago Mackie Osbourne announced that she had been working on some "Tool artwork for an upcoming project". Back then we all assumed it was for an Undertow re-issh.
This still hasn't seen the light of day yet....so I'm guessing it has something to do with a curveball release.
I'd also be surprised if the guy who did the Opiate artwork WASN'T roped in to do the artwork for Tool V - if he hasn't done so already.
Tool V - June 2016.

The curveball is a what-would-be-jam.
Re: The Grudge (WARNING: Meh... why bother?)
Why would they refer to an undertow reissue as a curveball. Given the release prior, it wouldn't be a curveball at all...
Release opiate reissue. Ok guys the next thing tool is working on its a complete curveball and you won't see it coming, an undertow reissue!
Just doesn't make sense

My guess is the curveball will be the band releasing all of their albums to itunes, spotify, etc. Along with a salival 2 type of collection. They've been against digital releases for so long, this would fit the mold of a curveball.

Re: The Grudge (WARNING: Meh... why bother?)
The curveball has been teased for a couple of years, I think it was teased even before the Opiate reiusse. Unless they're pulling out all the stops for it, I doubt it's an Undertow reissue. Even if it was I don't think Blair would start teasing it 2 years of the anniversary.

The "Curveball" is actually an ongoing experiment to determine exactly how long the average Tool fan can be strung along (remaining a Tool fan) without releasing any new material.
So far, we're approaching the 10 year mark, and the experiment has been a resounding success. They may stretch it to 15 years!

They will get a new member in the band. That would be a curve. Unlikely. Maybe release a book? They might even make a full length film. Who fucking knows? Not us. It would be great to get something by the end if the year, but they are going to do whatever they want. I can't even comprehend why I ever believed Justin in 2008 when he said they might release the album sooner than usual. Jeeze I'm dumb. Lol.

I watched an awesome interview with Frank Zappa on Youtube tonight where he talked about how important it was to not mislead fans... Refreshingly 35 years ago... Take a leaf FFS.....

Zappa also put out like 70 albums in about 30 years. He had a very different approach to making, playing, and releasing music. I would like to see some stuff from the Tool Vault be released.

And I would like to hear lateralus as it was intended to be released, with the longer intro/outta sections of certain songs. They trimmed it down to fit on 1 album.

I didn't know that they trimmed lateralus.
Re: The Grudge (WARNING: Meh... why bother?)
Well I believe Dan said something in an interview along the lines, 'they'd only guarantee us a 79 minute running time, we gave them 2 seconds of breathing room'
also, Avatar!
Re: The Grudge (WARNING: Meh... why bother?)
has anyone seen Puscifer live? is it worth getting tickets for? they have a show booked at Terminal 5 in NYC in November, I've seen the Deftones there and it's a great venue (if you know how to get the best view). should I even bother? not sure if the Grudge is the right place for this but I'm getting all pissy waiting for the Toolio boys to play in the tri-state area again and might settle for Maynard and his traveling circus of winos.
Asteroids do not concern me, Admiral. I want that ship, not excuses.
Re: The Grudge (WARNING: Meh... why bother?)
You haven't been paying attention bro... Many people who don't much dig Pussyfur on record have really liked them live. Myself definitely included. I've seen them live 3 times now and loved it. That's despite not revisiting the records a whole lot. Go see them.
