I'm annoyed that there isn't a CD and t-shirt bundle. You have to buy them seperately. I would've pre-ordered by now if they had that option.

I need to listen to it some more, but I like it. I don't think it's as good as Yellow & Green though. I really liked John Congleton's work with the band and I find Dave Fridmann's production kinda disappointing tbh.

Yellow & Green is a killer album and hard to top. Was just hoping they'd make the next logical process in their music and this does tht in spades for me.

Production wise, for a rip sounds great to me but my ear isn't as good as others when it comes to that kinda stuff. Picking up the cd tomorrow so hopefully the hard copy will sound better for ya.

I actually found out about Baroness from this thread, so I got to check out Yellow & Green and Purple in a matter of hours. I haven't even listened to the Red or Blue album yet. I will say that I really liked both albums, but I agree with Uke that Purple is overly compressed....especially compared to how clean Yellow & Green sounds.

Yeah once I bought the actual album & played through some decent speakers, I also was disappointed with the compression.

Hilly, you're in for a treat with the Red album man, absolute cracker of an album. Yellow & Green is my fav, but Red album is what got me into the band. Now the excitement of the new release has wavered, I'm not as amped for Purple as I was hoping for, but still a great album.

It's especially disappointing because the songs are good, really good, but the compression keeps the album from hitting that next level.

Baroness have been active on their twitter last few days dropping images of their past albums each day. Am assuming its meaning a new album colour announcement is on it way next day or two.

That would be fantastic although it is kind of interesting with Pete now gone is it really even Baroness any more? Maybe should change the name to the John Baizley Project. Nick Jost and Sebastian Thompson are solid additions and Purple was a great album, but Pete was there since the beginning. Gina Gleason has taken Pete's spot and apparently she does backing vocals so this album will definitely have a different vocal sound.

Yeah hes definitely a massive loss will be interested to see how they go with it but it's been a while between drinks now so theyve had plenty of time to come up with the goods. Good way to get let down but I'm fairly hopeful of a solid album.

Purple was great but I ended up really digging green and yellow as a bit more experimental. Am hoping to see a return to this with the new album
