reviews so far:

Hateful Eight = 7.9, Sicario = 8.9 (yeah it was THAT good, best movie I've seen this year), The Force Awakens = 8.0, The Martian = 8.3, The Revenant = 8.5. none of these movies failed to impress and they're all so wildly different and complex.

Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter

This one was a bit odd: Can't say that I'd recommend it, but glad I watched it.

if you enjoy the new Bond movies then watch Spectre. it was pretty good, not up there with Skyfall but dope none the less.

if you are a Tarantino fan you will thoroughly enjoy the Hateful Eight. I highly recommend it if you're already a fan.

the Revenant is a brilliant work of art from soup to nuts. to be honest I think Tom Hardy should get a best actor nod right along with Leo, they share equal dialogue and (close to equal) screen time, believe it or not. I'd say 60% Leo, 40% Tom. the fact that people are saying Mr. Hardy had a great "supporting" role is misleading. not only does he play a major role in the movie, he is definitely in it a whole lot in comparison to Leo, which I did not expect.

oh! I almost forgot...please add "Legend" to your list. I watched that last night and it was BANGIN.

I just watched Jupiter Ascending on Foxtel.

Good heavenly griefpants, why isn't this film at the tops of every single credible film journo's Top 10 Worst of 2015 list?!?! It absolutely should be.

Has anybody here seen it?!?! It is absolutely pathetic. Two parts Dune, one part Battlefield Earth and three parts Cinderella. It's as if the Wachowskis handed the reigns over to Jean Paul Gaultier at some point and said "here...make us a film about a space queen and a fox man with space rollerskates who fall in love. And make sure to include as much lengthy exposition and talks about taxation and "Galactic law" as is humanly possible. Oh and er....make sure every single person in the film is wearing one of your hideous creations, daaaaahling!!!"

I will never watch one of their films again. Move over Ewe Boll, you have some stiff competition coming up.....

^Yeah, despite the early reviews I was still looking forward seeing 'Jupiter Ascending.' Once it was released and panned across the board I ended up skipping it. I may have to check it out just to see how bad it actually is.

I watched 'The Intouchables' last night. A bit cliche perhaps, but entertaining and heartfelt:

I recall seeing the documentary 'Kurt and Courtney' years ago and feeling the same.

Hard to imagine that someone at some point in time during production, didn't quietly tap the Wachowski's on the shoulder and say "Um.....we need to talk about this..."

The trailer was enough to put me off Jupiter Ascending. I every thing goes to plan I will never see this movie in my life time.

I suggest you don't see it even if you are reincarnated in 90 years time as a guy who reviews really old sci fi movies.

Marvel's 'Black Panther' Lands 'Creed' Director Ryan Coogler

Creed I have no seen yet, for those that have seen it, is this considered to be good news? I mean I'm assuming you're an MCU fan already...thoughts?

Creed:

Surprisingly good. It's still pretty much a typical Rocky story but with the roles moved around. That Jordan guy sure can act. I don't know enough about movies to give the director credit for this or that but I'm assuming it's good that the story isn't super original but I still was highly entertained.

Recommend:
The Big Short
The Hateful Eight* (past the graphic violence/language is heavy duty story telling)
Ex-Machina (a lot of layers/issues underneath the sci-fi story line)

*Roadshow version of Tarantino flick is presented in 70mm. Comes with a color, 14 page souvenir program.
Mentions: 65mm film capture, 2.76:1 aspect ratio using Panavisions anamorphic lenses (most films are 1.85:1 or 2.39:1)

Hateful 8: 8/10!

If you hate dialogue then pass on this movie. Typical QT and it was not what I expected. Very happy my wife enjoyed it because toward the end I wasn't sure if she would have. Hahaha. Really beautifully shot and the score was amazing.
