- You like noisy music?
- Yes. The louder the better. Stops me from thinking.
- You don't like to think? What do you like?
- Never thought about it.

Also that was actually a really good newsletter in my opinion. Tongue in cheek, but still a decent actual reminder about things that if this IS your favorite band, you should probably subscribe to.

What were we talking about again?

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Hopefully the upcoming Tool and MJK VIP sessions will yield some actual info.
I also think there's a chance they might play an actual, completed new song at the shows later this month. Or at least a more fleshed-out offering of Descending with lyrics.

Unless I missed something, I find it very unlikely MJK participates in the VIP sessions

Regarding Meshuggah, I seem to have vague memories of them (probably Haake) talking about hearing demos before. I'm too lazy to check the links, but is this new news?

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Given people's penchant for spending more time recording videos on their phones than actually watching the show, id be stunned if they premiered a new song live. After all this time, I'd just be very surprised if they allowed their first new song in over a decade to be heard across the world as a shitty sounding bootleg.aenimal wrote:Hopefully the upcoming Tool and MJK VIP sessions will yield some actual info.

Well someone certainly irked Blair. What site is he talking about? Reddit?

I doubt it was any one thing that made him post that newsletter. The negativity is pretty unrelenting on the internet at times.Ravenpig wrote:Well someone certainly irked Blair. What site is he talking about? Reddit?

I think Ravenpig may be talking about Blair's new post, regarding the misinterpretation of the September Newsletter...hellboy wrote:I doubt it was any one thing that made him post that newsletter. So Long, and Thanks for All the Tool.

KK - haven't even seen this new post yet
Update: Yep, clickbait sites are weird. I remember reading one where Justin "confirmed" a double album in that Bass video from a few weeks ago. They must have watched the directors cut or something, because I didn't remember that part (or even some kind of implied double album comment)

Tomas was talking to Danny just before the weekend, and it was like, ‘Well, it will probably take a while.’
If Danny Carey is saying it's gonna be a while then......yeah, it's gonna be A WHILE......

I thought he may be referring to that reddit thread because he said the whole newsletter was re posted.

Maybe, I wouldn't say that reddit is a clickbait site though.Ravenpig wrote:I thought he may be referring to that reddit thread because he said the whole newsletter was re posted.

And I think what the guy from Meshuggah is talking about was last year at Danny's baby shower or whatever - Blair even said on the site that they played some new Tool material for those in attendance. I saw a few pics on social media at the time, I think Josh Freese and some of the APC folks were there, among other musician friends of Danny. I'm guessing that's where he heard the demos.

I cringed at that part too.Calfium Jay wrote:Tomas was talking to Danny just before the weekend, and it was like, ‘Well, it will probably take a while.’

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
If they haven't recorded anything yet (which seems likely) then it probably will take a while. Wake me up when it's 2017!
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
You guys, man..
Wake me up in 2017 as well. Summer 2017, when the next official update is released.
