Oh man it just got to that part in Invincible where it turns in a mosh-pit making, brown note inducing marriage of Justin and Danny/base and drums... Now it is hitting that jet fast, scary sounding marriage of all 4... Goddam that is so bad ass live...
Sorry, where was I? Oh yeah, has anyone else sang on a Tool record? Even just harmony...

You're obviously not a tool fan from way back.

Lol... To be honest, I don't know the name of most of the songs when I hear them. I have the jumble of song names in my head, but have never been able to connect them to the music. Half the time I don't even know what album a song is from.
You guys going to see them this tour?

Justin did some backing vocals on You Lied live, unsure if he did on the Salival version though. That's the only time I've come across a backing vocal in a Tool song that wasn't just Maynard doubling up (occasional live guest excepted).

shit that is weird. Listening to it now and it is clearly Rollins and you can hear when MJK picks it up to sing. I have always thought it was Maynard (and pretty sure I heard it as him as well). Man, I may have done too many drugs in the 90's.

Justin actually sounded good doing You Lied back in 2011 down under here; it was a nice surprise on that tour.
I think JC (Justin Chancellor, not the big fella Jesus Christ) might be needed for backing vocals live right at the end of 7empest as Maynard cannot sing his lyrics the way he's written them (see the final verse etc.).

Haha! Damn Tyson and Busty... You guys are fucking brutal! To interrupt this conversation, the only time I've heard any vocal harmony was during the Jambi song (Jambi, damn my eyes part) in the middle of the song) This is when he had a synth and foot pedals on his platform. I saw him do the harmony with the synth and at other times he would use a foot pedal below his synth to do the harmony. Can anyone here atest to this or am I out of my mind?tys0n wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 4:27 pmGet out.ToolFanFromWayBack wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 4:24 pm Lol... Re: Anyone except Maynard ever sang on a Tool album/song?
Speaking of harmonizing, there are a couple small parts of Descending where Adam plays a couple of notes where there are 2 guitars (harmonizing). I have seen them 3 times since the F.I. and I have not witnessed Descending I am wondering if he is just playing one of the notes or using some pedal for the second guitar part. If no one knows what I am talking about, I'll figure it out and let you know exactly where in the song I'm speaking of.
Re: Anyone except Maynard ever sang on a Tool album/song?
Second part is played by junior, watch it live, it's the only time in the show the lights stop moving while he plays the part.
