Now, listen to this:
7 years between those two performances, something happened with Maynard's vocals around 2015. He sounds ON POINT these days compared to 2009 - 2013.

I think the theory going ‘round is that ol’ May Jay f’gured out which wines would dry out his throat and affect his singing.
Also I’m pretty sure it’s during Mer De Noms that he says he’s sick.

I my opinion, a couple of things: he's changed his style somewhat - I suspect he might have had some vocal training to relearn how to sing with a changing/ageing voice. It's really no uncommon for many singers to do this - it's rare that someones voice remains the same from when they are 18, to when the are in their 50s.
Secondly, I think he uses a lot more subtle effects on his vocals these days. Be it compression, some delay effects and such. Perhaps even a little autotune.

I think both Hellboy and Raven are right. I think the wine absolutely had hurt his voice on 10,000 Days. I suspect he takes it easier on the wine when it is time to record and tour or as Raven said, he might avoid certain wines that might be more irritating to the throat. I absolutely think Hellboy is right about vocal training. There is no doubt that he sounds better now than he has in a very very long time. Hell he sounds better on Eat the Elephant than he does on 10k. You just don't get that back in your mid 50's without working at it.
Yes I am complementing Marynard. That is twice recently. I feel dirty. It's all good I am sure he will go to twitter sooner than later and say something stupid again.

Matt McJunkins did a Board to Death where he shows off his pedalboard for those that are into that.

Guess this is the wrong thread, but I just played "Mer de noms" on my stereo (for the first time?) and this must be the worst mixed/mastered CD I've listened to in a very long time. Sounds like an 96kb MP3.
What the f.... went wrong there???

Is it really that bad? I've never noticed it being awful
Re: Random 'A Perfect Circle' Social Media Thread
It does! Zero dynamics, zero details.

Good to see APC hitting the lucrative 3 year anniversary sale bandwagon

yeah, the dynamic between MJK and this band is strange. its like hes doing charity work to work with these guys.
Re: Random 'A Perfect Circle' Social Media Thread
I guess that's your perception. He seems to be into it from what I see
Re: Random 'A Perfect Circle' Social Media Thread
M was louder in the mix at the 2017 apc show then any Tool show ive seen from him in years. I thought the band wasnt as tight as it was in the earlier days though, thats for sure. Something seemed a little off that way but he was def singing loud and proud.
